TBE Relocates Austin Office, Names Travis Isaacson Senior Project Manager

08/09/2006

Relocated office offers SUE/utility coordination services to central Texas market.
Travis Isaacson will manage Subsurface Utility Engineering, utility coordination projects and business development efforts.

AUSTIN, TX – TBE Group, a full-service international consulting, design and engineering firm, is pleased to announce the relocation of its Austin, Texas, office and the appointment of Travis Isaacson as Senior Project Manager for its central Texas operations.

Office information is as follows:
TBE Group
7700 Chevy Chase Drive, Suite 303
Austin, TX 78752
Phone: 512.459.6500
Fax: 512.459.6502

In overseeing the office’s operations, Mr. Isaacson will manage Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) and utility coordination projects in Austin and central Texas. He will also be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with the firm’s public- and private-sector clients in the area.

Isaacson rejoins TBE from the Austin office of an engineering consulting firm, where he was most recently a Project Manager. Previously he was a member of the TBE team on the State Highway (SH) 130 Toll Project, working as a lead Utility Coordinator involved in all facets of the utility relocation process, including locating, design, and construction. Isaacson earned a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Texas A&M University.

“Our recently located office in Austin strengthens our established operations in the area and enables us to better pursue SUE and utility coordination opportunities in central Texas,” said Assistant Director Richard Sulzer, PE, who manages TBE’s Texas business unit operations. “Because of Travis’ experience with traditional and design-build TxDOT [Texas Department of Transportation] projects, he is familiar with preparing the required Utility Assembly Packages. His high levels of organization, integrity and commitment to excellence make him the ideal manager for our Austin and central Texas projects. TBE has built a reputation as a leading provider in Subsurface Utility Engineering and utility coordination, and the utility knowledge Travis has acquired, and the project experience he brings with him, will provide TBE with and even greater advantage as we pursue future business opportunities.”

Just Where Are Those Utilities, Anyway?

The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) plans to allocate approximately $80 million on a 1.2-mile section of Route US131 in downtown Grand Rapids, according to MDOT Region Engineer Steve Earl. The section, called the 'S-Curve,' is a winding series of surface and elevated highway and six bridges.

Discovery of some structural settlement and the need to fix it presented an opportunity to also straighten and widen the roadways, from three to four lanes in places - much needed renovations for a section that carries 100,000 vehicles per day.
