Certified as Associate Safety Professional
Currently serves as TBE’s Corporate Safety Director
CLEARWATER, FL – Assistant Director Christopher Proulx of TBE Group, a full-service international consulting, design and engineering firm, has completed all requirements and has received certification as an Associate Safety Professional (ASP) by the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP). Proulx is TBE’s Corporate Safety Director, as well as Safety/Training Director and Senior Geophysicist for the firm’s Utilities Division.
The BCSP establishes standards for and verifies minimum competency in professional safety practices. The organization awards the ASP certification to those individuals who meet academic requirements and pass the first of two extensive examinations. ASP is an interim designation to indicate progress toward the Certified Safety Professional (CSP) designation, which is awarded after individuals complete further requirements and pass a second exam. Currently, more than 10,000 individuals hold the CSP designation.
“Having a corporate safety director with an ASP certification is a notable achievement for TBE,” said Executive Vice President Sam Militello. “Chris’ ASP status validates our commitment to sustaining a safe work environment for all TBE associates in all of our office locations around the world. We are very proud of Chris’ accomplishments and his efforts to create a safe workplace at TBE.”
Proulx has worked for TBE since 1999. He received his BS degree in Earth Science, with a concentration in hydrogeology, from the Pennsylvania State University, and he received his MBA degree from the University of South Florida. He is a member of the Engineering and Environmental Geophysical Society (EEGS) and American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE).
