TALLAHASSEE, FL – Director Roger B. Register of TBE Group, a full-service international consulting, design and engineering firm, has been named President-elect of the Florida Brownfields Association (FBA). Register also manages TBE’s Tallahassee office.
The FBA is dedicated to the advancement and implementation of state and national brownfields redevelopment programs. FBA members, who include environmental specialists and professionals, provide brownfields information and redevelopment strategies to communities and the public to help clean up contaminated properties and revitalize areas that have experienced economic decline.
Register joined TBE in 2005, after spending 15 years providing environmental oversight at the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) in Tallahassee. During his final eight years at FDEP, he implemented and managed the statewide Brownfields Redevelopment Program.
“With his brownfields experience, leadership and expertise, Roger is an extremely valuable contributor to TBE’s brownfields redevelopment efforts, and I expect him to take an equally strong leadership role as the FBA President-elect,” said TBE Vice President Steve Howarth.
“Roger Register has a long history of dedicated brownfields advocacy in Florida,” said Richard S. Keenan, PG, Office Manager for Golder Associates’ Jacksonville, Florida, office and incoming FBA President. “Under his guidance, the Florida Department of Environmental Protection developed a highly successful brownfields redevelopment program that is a model for our colleagues across the country. His experience and continued efforts in the brownfields arena represent a tremendous asset to the FBA and to the collaborative efforts of brownfields stakeholders throughout Florida. Roger is a natural leader, and I look forward to a bright future with Roger in his role as President-elect of the FBA.”
“I am honored and privileged to serve as a board member for the Florida Brownfields Association and as the FBA’s President-elect,” said Register. “The FBA is a voluntary service organization, and our existence and accomplishments depend on involvement of all members. I look forward to working with the FBA executive officers, Rick Keenan and Nandra Weeks, and our members to assist Florida communities in redeveloping brownfields and revitalizing areas that have experienced economic and public health decline.”
