The Florida engineering firm started with 2 associates in 1984 and has grown to more than 400 through its diversity of services. TBE Group started off simply as Tampa Bay Engineering in Clearwater, Fla., working primarily with the beach communities in the Tampa Bay area and providing services similar to those cities that had their own engineer. Its president and founder, Patrick Beyer, P.E., started with just two associates.

TBE to the Rescue 2/27/06 When a vehicle hit the Florida Turnpike exit 133 (Stuart) bridge, the crash caused enough structural damage that Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise quickly hired a contractor to make the emergency repairs. The Turnpike also contacted three consulting firms, including TBE, to ask who was able to provide emergency construction engineering and inspection (CEI) services. TBE responded immediately and, with one day’s notice, was on the job. The nighttime work, performed under TBE’s existing contract with the Florida Turnpike Enterprise, lasted approximately three weeks.
