CLEARWATER, FL – Trenchless Technology, a leading magazine serving the dynamic trenchless technology industry, has ranked TBE Group #2 in its list of Top Fifty Design Engineering Firms for 2005. The ranking represents the fifth year in a row TBE has placed in the publication’s top 3 positions.
The magazine’s rankings were based on total trenchless technology billings for 2004. With more than $21 million in trenchless technology billings, TBE ranked #2 overall. TBE has historically utilized traditional trenchless technology methods for utility installation and rehabilitation projects. However, TBE’s innovative Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) services have taken trenchless technology to a new level.
TBE is a nationally recognized leader in SUE, a highly efficient, non-destructive process that combines geophysics, surveying and civil engineering to provide accurate mapping of existing underground activities. The accurate information SUE provides contributes to informed design and construction decisions, which help project owners avoid costly conflicts, damage, delays, service disruptions, redesigns, claims, or even serious injuries due to inaccurately plotted utility information. This makes SUE the ultimate trenchless technology process, by avoiding trenching and other potentially destructive construction techniques.
“For TBE, a medium-sized firm, to be ranked #2 on a list that includes much larger firms in terms of total billings is a tremendous honor for us,” said TBE President Patrick L. Beyer, PE. “The ranking reflects our commitment to remaining current with the latest state-of-the-art trenchless and SUE technology and
providing services that exceed client expectations – on both a national and international level. We currently provide these services to clients in more than 40 states throughout the country. Internationally, TBE offers SUE in Canada and Puerto Rico, and we are preparing to expand our services into China.”
“A growing number of our public- and private-sector clients, nationally and internationally, are making efforts to comply with the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) guidelines for collecting and depicting underground utility data, which are highly regarded as the definitive standard in the industry,” said TBE Senior Vice President Nick Zembillas. “Because of our knowledge and expertise, TBE is often asked to conduct workshops on the use of SUE and the incorporation of the ASCE guidelines.”
The top 50 firms were honored in Trenchless Technology’s December 2005 issue. The list is available online at www.trenchlessonline.com.
